Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 chicken breasts (about 500g total)
  • 100g pretzels
  • 35g plain flour
  • 2 eggs (beaten)
  • Spices: paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, black pepper, cayenne pepper
  • For the honey mustard sauce: mayonnaise, honey, Dijon mustard, yellow mustard, apple cider vinegar, onion powder, garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Prepare the honey mustard sauce by mixing all sauce ingredients in a bowl. Set aside.
  2. Crush pretzels into coarse crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a zip-lock bag and rolling over them with a pin.
  3. Set up three shallow dishes: one for flour mixed with half of the spices, one for beaten eggs, and another for crushed pretzels mixed with the remaining spices.
  4. Slice each chicken breast into four cutlets.
  5. Dredge each cutlet in flour first, dip in egg, then coat thoroughly with pretzel crumbs.
  6. Heat oil in a heavy pan over medium heat and fry cutlets until golden brown (3-4 minutes per side). Transfer to a wire rack to drain excess oil.
